Members of the West Bay community met Saturday, 18 June at the Boatswain Bay Presbyterian Church in West Bay for the Neighbourhood Watch Programme. During the meeting the new chief inspector for West Bay, Richard Barrow, was introduced. The group established appropriate signs, confirmed coordinators for various neighbourhoods, described the coordinators’ duties and produced a custom-made package for each coordinator.
The meeting was focused on future projects of improving community spirit, home security, local environment, beautification and youth groups with adult mentors, to set the standards for an Island-wide Neighbourhood Watch Programme. There is a need for more signs, watch members said. The programme asked for the public’s assistance in acquiring more.
